Kansas City Chiefs Acknowledge Domestic Violence Allegations Connected to Wide Receiver Rashee Rice
The NFL franchise issued a statement on Wednesday evening indicating they are aware of domestic violence allegations made public in online accounts by a former girlfriend of wide receiver the athlete and had been in contact with the league office.
The organization did not mention Rice specifically in their statement and stated they would have “no further comment at this time”.
Claims Shared on Instagram
The woman, who likewise did not name Rice by name, shared a set of images on social media that appeared to show signs of physical abuse. Jones stated the individual in question was the father of her children, and it is known she has kids with Rice, whom the team selected in the 2023 draft.

No police reports were available in the Kansas City suburb where the alleged abuse is said to have taken place.
Player's Prior Legal Issues
Rice was absent for the initial part of this NFL campaign due to an NFL suspension for his role in instigating a crash on a Dallas highway that resulted in multiple people hurt. He was sentenced a month of incarceration and probationary supervision after pleading guilty to serious offenses.
On the field, Rice finished the year with 53 receptions for 571 receiving yards and five TDs as the Chiefs went 6-11 and missed the playoffs for the first occasion in a ten-year span.
