This young athlete boasts substantial social media following
Kai Trump will have numerous prominent supporters when she begins her LPGA debut on Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who happens to be the granddaughter of Donald Trump, obtained a tournament invitation to play at Florida's Annika event in Florida.
The former president, someone who loves golf, owns multiple courses worldwide and regularly competes against Kai.
"He's quite skilled. I can't say much but we have some close matches," she mentioned.
Kai explained that her grandfather, unable to come, counseled her: "Just don't get nervous."
"He practically advised me to play and have fun," she continued.
"In my eyes, he's just a normal grandpa. He can't make it this weekend. He's occupied with presidential duties, so he's quite busy."
As an amateur, the golfer has participated in only three events recently and has ranking 461 in AJGA standings.
But she's able to get advice from Tiger Woods, in a relationship with Vanessa.
"He stands as the best player in the world," Kai expressed.
"Furthermore, he's an even better person. He suggested me to go out there, have fun, adapting to whatever happens."
Kai will face some of most prominent players in the sport at the Annika, featuring second-ranked Nelly Korda, England's golfer Hull, Lexi Thompson and 2023 champion Lilia Vu.
Tournament organizers mentioned that Kai's presence exposes the sport to new audiences, specifically among younger fans.
The young star boasts a massive following and just introduced a personal clothing and lifestyle label.
Her first tee time at 17:30 GMT.
