The Red Devils Poised to Secure German Striker Lea Schüller from Bayern Munich
The Women's Super League club are on the verge of sealing the deal for prolific Germany striker Lea Schüller on a permanent transfer away from the Frauen-Bundesliga champions.
A Marquee Acquisition for the WSL Side
The forward, with six months left on her contract, is known as a consistent goal-getter for both club and country. She has netted over 100 goals for the German giants and scored 54 times in 82 caps for Germany. Her arrival is viewed as a major signing for the WSL team.
Departure from Munich was expected since she was seen fighting back tears while applauding the German club’s supporters following a win over Bayer Leverkusen this month.
Reports in December that the Frauen-Bundesliga was set to lose one of its top forwards. According to multiple sources, the formalities for the move have now been completed.
Reliable Goalscoring to Boost the Forward Line
The 28-year-old’s arrival is expected to provide a significant boost to United’s attacking options. She has been remarkably reliable with her finishing in the Bundesliga.
- Over seven consecutive seasons, including the last term, she reached at least a double-digit tally of league goals.
- She claimed the top scorer award in 2021-22 season with a haul of 16 goals.
